PharmOptima (http://www.pharmoptima.com/) is a contract research organization serving academy, research foundations, biotechnology and pharmaceutical companies. Founded in 2003, PharmOptima has been advancing drug discovery and development by providing a variety of research services. PharmOptima is currently seeking a Research Scientist who has a broad range of laboratory research experience with a focus on nonclinical in vivo models.
Minimum: Several years’ experience in general lab procedures, both in vivo and at the bench. Performs laboratory procedures using established methods/models per study protocol and/or standard operating procedure. Familiar and trained on use of general laboratory equipment such as dispensing pipettes, balances, centrifuges. Proficient with sample handling procedures. Prepares and reviews procedure worksheets, supporting tables and reports from raw data. Demonstrated ability to develop complex methods and troubleshoot instrument problems. Maintains assigned instruments in working order.
Expected: Attention to detail with exceptional documentation practice. Ability to communicate with colleagues and supervisor regarding on-going lab activities. Maintains an organized and clean work-place. Knowledge and experience in adherence to standards set by USDA & AAALAC established guidelines
Preferred: Candidate has demonstrated ability to operate independently performing bench-top research studies including, and extensive hands-on experience and understanding of in vivo pharmacology and pharmacokinetic models. Progression to Principal Scientist and/or Study Director in the conduct of nonclinical research studies, along with authoring protocols and reports. Scheduling, planning, organizing, and conducting nonclinical research studies. Personality to work within group/team setting to accomplish study objectives. Skills to provide technique training to less experienced team members.
